What are the core differences between the Jawbone I and the Jawbone II?

Many owners of the original Jawbone complained of the comfort level the earpiece provided. With Jawbone II, comfortableness has been revamped, and has reached a new level for customer satisfaction. Aside from comfort, sound quality really is the focal point of improvements.

In the prior Jawbone model, consumers would often be faced with the dilemma of having less than great sound quality. With the new Jawbone, extended wear won't take a toll. Actually, with the earpiece attached and in place, I barely noticed it being there.

The overall size of the original Jawbone was, well, a little gawky, and seemed a bit out of place. Jawbone II caries itself in a design that's well over fifty percent smaller than it's predecessor.

The new Aliph Jawbone features more than just a slim new design and enhancements to the sound quality. Jawbone II is actually lighter in weight, and comfortably fits close to the face. This model sports a leather covered ear clip, which only adds to the luxury and overall comfortableness.

With NoiseAssassin, Jawbone II now has the implemented ability to detect differences in background and foreground noise. NoiseAssassin basically allows for a better conversation. When subjected to numerous test calls, I found that with the Jawbone II, my conversationalist clearly heard a better quality sound, than in perspective with the Jawbone I.  Strangely, incoming sound quality hasn't improved much at all.

The total amount of “talk time” with one full charge, is only about four hours. But the new Jawbone won't let you down. In fact, when Jawbone II is in standby, it can sustain battery life for a full eight days! But for only around sixty bucks, Jawbone II is quite exceptional, and should not be over looked. For this Bluetooth, Nokia claims the talk time as 10 Hours. I have been using this for about 10 days now, however the actual talk time does not go beyond 8.5 Hours. It takes a little more than 2 hours to re-charge the battery, for it to be ready to be used again. If the battery is about to get discharged, the flashing blue light changes to blue and red light, flashing alternatively and also giving out beeps at a steady interval.

Nokia claims a stand by time for this as 180 Hours and operating range of 32.80 Feet. However as per my own experience the stand by time is not more than 150 hours and it operates well only in the range of 20 to 25 feet. Beyond which there is disturbance creeps in until 30 feet. Beyond 30 feet there just connectivity & you cannot really make or receive call on this Bluetooth device. The sound quality of this Bluetooth device is excellent within 20 to 25 feet of range.

There is a button available to increase and decrease the volume. We also have an option of making calls through this device. The button which used to disconnect the call is pressed twice in order to dial the last number dialed, so there is no need to even look at the mobile phone while driving or working out in gym.

Apart from receiving and making calls, you will be able to use this Bluetooth device to listen to the MP3 songs stored your Bluetooth enabled cell phones and its memory card. This cannot be used for listen to FM Radio. This I found as the real disadvantage for music lovers like me.

Overall I would give 4.5 out of 5 to this product by Nokia. The 0.5 is cut for the non availability of FM Radio. Apart from this product being a little costly which is understandable with Nokia, it offers excellent features.
