Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset: Tiny But Powerful

Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset Review

This H700 Bluetooth headset is a fifth generation Motorola technological wonder. It has a folding design, which has become very popular recently. This design, using Motorola’s own PowerFlip, allows the microphone to fold while the ear hook is ergonomic and reversible. It comes with a typical USB Motorola charger, however any Motorola charger will do. For those who are serious about wireless connections and hands free usage, you need this Bluetooth headset.

If you’d like some more info and customer comments on the H700,  check out Amazon.

Features

This Motorola headset features an easy to use design that fits outside the ear. It syncs quickly and easily and with its Bluetooth 1.2 support, it pairs faster than other newer of this class, even though it is a few years old. This Bluetooth support versions also allows for less interference resulting in less dropped calls and faster call connection. It is compatible with most Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2 devices including PCs, PDA’s printers and anything else that supports Bluetooth hands free handsets.

Buttons

One button with multiple functions at the touch of the button include functionality for the start of a call, ending a call, three way calling, hold and mute as well. The volume control is advanced using “orientation technology,” otherwise known as accelerometers to ensure the controls for the volume are constantly in an upright position. This means that no matter where the headset is, you are sure to turn it down if you need, and not up instead.

Power

The battery allows for up to six hours of continuous talk time and 130 hours of standby time before recharging is needed. The microphone helps to conserve energy using its position to power on or off. For example, if the microphone is unfolded, it turn on automatically, if you fold it closed, it turn off. This is great for saving the battery when it is not in use. However, if you forget to close the mic, then you just might waste the battery’s juice.

Sound Quality

As for sound quality, in noisy situations, it falters just a bit in both directions, but not enough to really make a difference overall. People on the other end of the line say the calls are heard loud and the audio is crisp and clear with little or no static.

Overall, this is a tiny but powerful headset. While some of the newer and more advanced Motorola headsets may contain more features, the Motorola H700 Bluetooth headset has enough features offering true hands free service for any serious user.

If you’re looking to get a great deal on the H700, Amazon has some great prices.

Motorola’s HS850 Bluetooth Headset is “Good Ole Reliable”

Motorola HS850 Review by Paul Hundrieser

Sound Quality
Functions
Overall Value

Available on Amazon for $51.99 here.

The Motorola HS850 Bluetooth headset is a small step up from its HS8910 roots. This device is considered a solid and reliable piece of technology that comes complete with many welcome features that people consider to be standard for any worthy headset. Some of the headset’s features include incredibly easy handset to headset transferal, voice tag support, simplicity in turning the device on and off, and call waiting with three way calling. Amazon has more info on the HS850, as well as customer reviews here. This headset is one of the easiest Bluetooth enabled devices released to day. The ability to redirect the call to the headset simply by turning it on as opposed to some of the fiddling and random button pressing required by some devices mark it as a product worth purchasing based on this factor alone. The best part of this feature is that it will work with any Bluetooth enable handset and not only a Motorola one. When a call comes in and the headset is already on a long press of the button will direct the call to the headset. Typically it will be off prior to a call, however, as most individuals will desire to save its battery charge. Voice tag capacity has long been a favorite on many people. The ability to press a button and simply speak the name of someone you wish to talk to is an often invaluable time saving tool. The Motorola HS850 Bluetooth headset comes with this feature installed. A short press of the main command button followed by the individual’s name (if stored in the phone) will allow for immediate dialing. The simplicity of this device in regard to turning it on and off cannot be overstressed. With this headset all that is required for it to be turned on is an opening of the microphone boom. To turn it off simply close the boom. This ingenious method allows the device to be instantly usable the moment it is turned on. Call waiting is a must for any modern day device. A headset has been notorious for not allowing this concept until recent years. With this device a long press of the command button will place one call on hold and allow the receipt of another. Should the owner of the device desire to switch between these two calls they can simply repeat the process as often as they like. If a three way call is desired then the device owner can simply press both volume buttons simultaneously. Overall the Motorola HS850 headset is a comfortable device that sits well on the ear, even if it has a bit of a floppy feeling, and works in a crystal clear manner. Few people can tell that a headset is being used as opposed to a handset. This device is worthy of a solid four stars.

The Jabra BT 530 is a Great Bluetooth Headset at a Reasonable Price

Jabra BT530 Bluetooth Headset Review

Are you fed up of the background noise heard on your head-phone? Are you planning to go in for a new headset that’s with a affordable price? If you answered “yes”, then your best bet is the all-new and unique Jabra BT530 bluetooth headset. After the renowned successes of Jabra BT8040 and Jabra JX10, Jabra has now come out proudly to compete in the market with its new product Jabra BT530 bluetooth headset.

Amazon has even more info as well as customer reviews on this headset here.

Even though it is not DARPA-approved and doesn’t have capabilities offered from voice command as offered by some of its competitors, it is definitely the best as far as background noise cancellation is concerned. The long and slender Jabra BT530 Bluetooth headset is covered in a black very soft plastic with tiny bit of perforated chrome that goes down the middle. Though its overall appearance is not very attractive, it does have some unique features which make it special and aid in survival in the market. There are two buttons for volume on the upper part of the headset located on both sides of the slightly-raised multi-function call key. The volume buttons can be easily identified by touch.

The tiny strip of perforated chrome houses two noise cancellation microphones which aid in noise reduction. The power slider switch on the headset is quite pretty and it is easier to just slide down when the set is isn’t in use. At the top there is the jack for the charger, and in the middle of the controls for the volume, there is also a LED indicator.

This isn’t all, however. Jabra BT530 has an ear-piece and also comes with an ear-hook – its unique features. It offers two types of ear-pieces: one with a simple gel-like tip to be stuck inside of the ear and the other with the same gel-like tip with a rubber loop to be fitted along the folds of the ear. The first type needs an additional ear hook to keep it in place for long! Jabra BT530 gel-tips are available in different sizes to suit the many sizes of ears.

This wonderful bluetooth headset is quite affordable.  So, go and buy the Jabra BT530 Bluetooth Headset and protect your valuable ears from the bangs of background noises and enjoy hearing pleasant and soothing voices from your headset.

The Voyager PRO Is The Newest Bluetooth Headset In The Plantronics Family

Plantronics Voyager PRO Bluetooth Headset Review

I don’t know about you, but where I live we have a hands-free law. Basically if you are caught talking on your cell phone without a Bluetooth headset, you will be facing some pretty stiff fines and penalties. Bluetooth headsets are becoming increasingly popular due to this “hands free” law that so many states are implementing.

While you can get Bluetooth headsets for as little as $10, more than likely it will not be very good. If you are going to make this purchase then you might as well purchase one that is of good quality. The Plantronics Voyager PRO Bluetooth ranks very high on the upper echelon of Bluetooth headsets.

Replacing the Plantronics Voyager 510, the Voyager PRO  is a fully loaded and well-functioning Bluetooth device. Plantronics has built their new Bluetooth with active DSP that they call “Audio IQ2.” The Audio IQ2 system reduces noise using the PRO’s two built-in microphones. The IQ2 system also helps project your voice to the person you are speaking to.

Amazon has more info and customer reviews on the Voyager PRO here.

The Voyager PRO also comes equipped with a WindSmart microphone screen to help shield the microphones from wind noise. This in turn allows the headset to fully function more appropriately in less than ideal conditions.

While the Voyager PRO may not be the lightest headset on the market, the heavy weight is distributed across the users ears in a way that allows you to forget that this headset is one of the heaviest Bluetooth’s on the market.

Key Specs

  • Bluetooth v2.1 + VDR
  • Audio IQ2 DSP and eSCO
  • Two noise-canceling microphones
  • Stainless steel WindSmart mic screens
  • Li-ion battery
  • Multipoint technology
  • QuickPair technology
  • Micro-USB charging connection
  • 6 hours of talk time
  • 5 days of stand-by time
  • 33-foot operation range
  • Advertised Weight: 17.5 grams

If you need a Bluetooth device then the Plantronics Voyager PRO is a pretty smart purchase. You will be getting a high-end, reliable bluetooth hands-free device that will work in even the most non-ideal conditions. It may be a little heavy, but this is a purchase I could get behind.

If You’re Looking For A Totally Different Bluetooth Headset, Check Out The BlueAnt V1

BlueAnt V1 Bluetooth Headset Review

The BlueAnt V1 is a revolutionary new Bluetooth Headset which is bound to make your existing Bluetooth feel like an antique! Many Bluetooth headsets attempt to change the way we look at Bluetooth technology however very few actually do, now its time to discuss why the BlueAnt V1 will change the way you look at a Bluetooth headset for your phone!

Amazon has some more info as well as customer comments on this headset here.

Connectivity

Connecting the BlueAnt V1 headset to your mobile phone is even easier than your existing Bluetooth! There are no crazy lights or button combinations to press to pair your BlueAnt, all you have to do is turn on the BlueAnt and press the primary button, the BlueAnt will then ask you to “Say a Command” and you can simply say “Pair Me”. Once the BlueAnt is in pairing mode your mobile phone will be able to discover it and connect! The BlueAnt V1 can store pairing information for up to 8 different phones but obviously can only be connected to one of those phones at a time.

Range & Reliability

The BlueAnt V1 has an average range of about 32 feet. The unit is very reliable and does not easily lose connection even when at the very end of its signal range. The range did not seem to be reduced very much by objects, walls or even doors. The BlueAnt V1 was not affected by other Bluetooth devices operating in close proximity. The range and the reliability of the signal were not adversely affected by low battery strength.

Usability

The BlueAnt V1 is one of the easiest to use Bluetooth headsets currently on the market thanks to the Blue Genie Voice Interface. The Genie guides you through using the headset and you can even ask the Genie for the available headset commands. This headset can do any number of things by voice control including connect with your phone, dial a contact and even answer you if you ask for the current battery strength! The BlueAnt V1 also features a great verbal caller ID. The BlueAnt V1 is one of the best hands free headsets available and makes talking while performing other activities such as driving a breeze.

Call Quality

Voice quality came across as very clear and natural. The BlueAnt V1 performs very well under normal conditions. The BlueAnt V1 features a unique dual mic system which allows for background noise suppression. The noise suppression works very well and conversations are very possible from crowded locations such as bars and restaurants. The outgoing voice does have a flat sound while using the noise suppression but that is to be expected.

Conclusion

The BlueAnt V1 is an excellent piece of technology and true advancement to Bluetooth headsets. This is the ideal headset for home users and light business users. The lack of advanced business compatible features and customizability stop it from being ideal for business class users. Home users should be delighted by the feature set, voice control and outstanding call quality!

If you’d like to grab your BlueAnt V1 Bluetooth Headset at a great price, check out Amazon here.

Motorola H385 Bluetooth Headset-Slim, Sleek, and a Name You Can Trust

Motorola H385 Bluetooth Headset Review

The Motorola H385 Bluetooth Headset is comfortable, lightweight, and reasonably affordable. While I was initially somewhat skeptical because of its price point, the Motorola H385 has turned out to be one of the best Bluetooth headsets I’ve ever used. Connecting the headset to my Samsung Gravity via Bluetooth connection was an easy process. I merely had to turn on the Bluetooth option on my phone and search for devices. The Motorola H385 immediately registered as a usable device and connecting it to my phone was as simple as a press of a button.

There are some great customer comments and other information on this headset at Amazon right here.

The headset itself is much more comfortable than many other Bluetooth headsets. Perhaps this is due to an included flexible wire which easily conforms to the ear, be it the left or the right. The headset is not so light that you won’t forget it’s there, but is comfortable enough that you won’t mind. You don’t have to worry about having long conversations in the car only to have ear pains for hours afterward.

The sound quality is crisp and clear for both the listener and the speaker. I heard little to no interference or static while on the road. I decided to test the quality of the microphone by leaving a voicemail for myself and was pleased by the results. My voice didn’t sound echoey like I’ve found with cheaper headsets, and it is certainly better than using the speaker phone. As an added bonus, the end call button on the headset makes it easy to end calls when you are done with your conversation.

As for technical aspects, the Motorola H385 is universally compatible with over 200 phone models from across 15 brands. If your phone is Bluetooth compatible, there should be no problems in getting the headset hooked up quickly and easily. The H385 works up to 33 feet away from the phone. The battery lasts for up to six hours in use or six days on standby. It is easily rechargeable using any mini-USB adapter. Available in silver and black, the Motorola H385 is a sleek, simple, and stylish headset that gave me no gripes. It is undoubtedly one of the best available at its price range, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to people tired of wearing uncomfortable or buggy Bluetooth headsets.

Before You Buy The Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset, Read This!

The Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset Review

The Plantronics Voyager 510 is another decent addition to the Plantronics headset line however it does not come without a few flaws. The Voyager 510 is one of Plantronics latest mid-grade headsets which offers good quality at the expense of a decent design.

If you want some more info on this Bluetooth Headset, you might want to check out some of the reviews on Amazon here from current customers.

Design

The Voyager 510 boasts the typical over the ear style ear piece which is fairly common for the later Plantronics headsets. The overall impression is that the Voyager 510 is very poorly designed. The Voyager 510 is very hard to actually get onto your ear due to the placement of the over the ear “bar” and due to the extra flexibility of the headset. The flexibility is meant to increase comfort however it makes the headset very hard to get over the ear initially. In addition the power button is designed very poorly and is almost impossible to press while the headset is on your ear. More likely than not it will necessary to remove the headset to press the power button which is a very tedious task since getting the headset back over your ear is quite a challenge. The microphone design causes the microphone to be very close to your face during conversations which results in muffled voice quality quite frequently.

Usability & Connectivity

The Voyager 510 connects very easily to your mobile phone in the same fashion as most other Bluetooth headsets. The Voyager 510 allows for up to two different devices’ connection data to be stored allowing for fast switching between devices. The signal strength from the Voyager 510 is decent and the range is right around 23 feet. This is greatly reduced if there are walls, doors or other obstacles in the room.

Voice Quality

The overall voice quality of the Voyager 510 is below standard for Plantronics. The voice has a very dull sound to it and even at times sounds robotic when using the Voyager 510. On other occasions the voice sounds very muffled and hard to understand due to the positioning of the microphone (which can’t be changed). The voice quality issues persisted across different mobile phones and at different ranges therefore the problem seems to be with the actual Voyager 510 series headset.

If you’d like to get a great deal on this headset, you can get it from Amazon here.

Conclusion

The Voyager 510 is a decent headset for casual Bluetooth headset users. Due to the voice quality problems and uncomfortable design it is not recommended for heavy users nor business users. Plantronics is typically known for decent quality headsets but it would seem as if they missed the mark with the Voyager 510.
